As the ugala-martu of the elite Qurubuti Guard, Humusi is the highest-ranking officer in Akkadia’s competitive female-dominated military.
Humusi is of noble Akkadian blood, but that’s not how she became commander of Iltani’s personal guard. Noble birth gave her access to good training and diet from a young age, but competition for top military positions is fierce and is settled through martial contest. Humusi became ugala-martu by defeating all challengers.
